I'm an Ambassador of the Future

Courage? What is courage? Courage is normally defined as the spirit within us that enables us to face dangers, trials or pains without fear. For the purposes of this blog, let me direct you to the following film clip:

In the movie "Coach Carter", the coach has just made a decision to halt the basketball season as the players have fallen behind on their grades. He will not allow it to go ahead until the players have done what they are supposed to do. This decision is unheard of. Making big decisions are never easy: they make us anxious; stressed and doubtful. In his speech, Timo is telling us that we should not be afraid to show who we really are at the risk of offending others. The only person you are cheating by concealing who you are.. is yourself.

Fear is not of or from God but instead is something we manifest in ourselves. An obstacle will never be placed in front of us that we cannot handle. Sometimes failing is easier than succeeding in order to fit in with the rest of the world. If we all chose to sit back and take the easy road, there would be no greatness, there would be no nobel peace prize winner, there would be no hero. You can achieve greatness if you maintain the same belief in yourself that God has in you.

By letting our own light shine, we often liberate those around us. Too often, we dumb ourselves down or hide our talents for fear of making those around us feel insecure. It's easier to attract attention for the wrong reasons than for the right ones, right? Let your light shine! We are all beautiful people with a lot to offer and we shouldn't be afraid to display our God given gifts at the risk of offending others.

What I wanted to achieve by your reading this is to have courage to be the person that you want to be. We are all ambassadors of the future, having the courage to let your light shine will ensure that it is bright.

Being young does not make you less powerful or less important. We are all a part of tomorrow. So have courage in all that you do and let your light shine for all to see.
